Title |
Bonelli Landing on the Colorado River |
Description |
Landscape view; b&w; a copy of a photo of people standing on a small boat at Bonelli Landing. A woman, boy, and two men are standing on a small narrow boat tied to a small pier. A man is seated at the far end of the boat with a dog on his lap. The man with his arm on the fence along the pier is possibly Daniel Bonelli. The Bonelli Ferry crossed the Colorado River near Junction City, NV (also known as Rioville) at the mouth of the Virting River. The Bonelli family operated the ferry between 1876 and the 1920s. A ferry continued to operate in the area until it was flooded by the construction of Lake Mead in 1935. |
